Olympic Bunker, Olympic Trench, Olympic Trap or International Trap, is an International discipline where a squad of 6 shooters will fire at targets from 15 machines. Targets are thrown away from the shooter at a minimum height of 1.5 meters and a maximum height of 3.5 meters when measured 10 meters in front of the bunker. Targets must reach a 70 - 75 meter distance and can be thrown up to 110 mph. The maximum target angle is 45 degrees from center (left or right). There is a squad of 6 shooters with only 5 shooting at any one time. This is an Olympic Shooting Sport controlled by ISSF rules that state there shall be 25 targets per round with 125 targets shot over 2 days. For Olympic Bunker, ISSF defines nine set programs for the target trajectories for the fifteen traps. These programs are used in all countries that shoot Olympic Bunker. After 5 targets have been thrown, shooters move to the next station (right), in a shoot-and-move rotation. As the squad of 5 shooters rotate from left to right, the 6th shooter moves to position 1, thus saving time between squad moves. Olympic Bunker Design is critical .The shooting stations are located in a straight line 15 meters back from the trap line (Base Line). They are marked by 1 meter squares and spaced 3 meters apart on centers. To ensure non-biased and instant release of targets, a phono-pull release system is utilized, activated when the shooter calls "Pull". A clay is thrown from one of three fixed traps directly in front of each of five shooters. Two shots may be used for each target with no penalty in scoring. Each shooter gets two lefts, two rights, and one straightaway target from each station.
